Have used this wonderful, truly local restaurant for several caterings. From the top they are attentive and care for their customers. The food is never short of remarkable. Wraps and sandwiches are fresh and full of delicious cold cuts. And, the soup?!? Simply fantastic. Today the woman at the register - who recognized me when I walked in after ten months since I was last there - carried the whole order out to my car. We stood and had some meaningful conversation on the curb. Easily done with someone who shows interest in others. Genuine. Appreciated. If Support Local is a goal this is the best place to flex that. Well-rounded and full of goodness.

This cute little place was full on a Wednesday for lunch. The soups my friends and I had were all delicious. No complaints about my huge chef salad either, lots of meat cheese, egg and veggies just like it should be. Service was great. There was plenty of outdoor seating, but we opted to stay inside away from the heat. I would definitely go again. Just a heads up, they charge more for credit cards.

I stopped by Barb's today for lunch after reading the reviews here on Yelp. I doubt I would have found it otherwise, as it's just outside of the main downtown area, on College Street, about 3 blocks up from Water Street, which is just far enough from 'city center' that you wouldn't just see it if you were driving or walking around. But once you go looking for it, it's easy to find, and has a really welcoming exterior, with cheery sign and lots of flowers. I arrived around 12:30 pm and the place was about half full. I had in mind to sit outside to eat, but the waitress, Melanie, let me know the bees were pretty bad, so I stayed inside. I ordered an egg salad sandwich on GF bread, which came with lettuce and tomato, and a side of chips. I didn't want the chips so upgraded to a side salad. The egg salad was nice - good amount of mayo, enough salt, nothing weird added, and a good portion. The GF bread was really good - a nice surprise. Lettuce and tomato were both fresh. Side salad was nothing too special, though the balsamic dressing was good (served on the side). Service was great - Melanie was friendly and attentive, accommodating and bubbly. I would definitely recommend and will be back next time I'm in town.

I've had delicious food and fast table service here, and I've only been by a few times but always plan to make it back soon. At one point I was at a luncheon that had to wrap up suddenly -- we found out we had to go urgently not that long after being served -- and the server was very accommodating about wrapping up our food and rushing the bill out to us even though the cafe was pretty full at the time.

Barb's soup on catering department recently provided food for our post funeral luncheon for family and friends. We sincerely appreciated her guidance on the selection and quantity of food to purchase for our event. The food was delivered as promised and Barb even helped us set up. The fruit and veggie trays were very fresh. The sandwich platters were delicious and everyone raved about the variety of meats and breads. We were astonished at the affordable price for the amount of food provided. Barb is a true professional and we are grateful we could rely on her and her team at this difficult time. We highly recommend!!

Was coming through town on the way home to Philly. Yelp steered us to Barb's for breakfast. Sat outside on their beautiful deck. Service and food was great! Barb gave us some free homebaked cookies on the way out! Thanks Yelp! (and Barb!)

When visiting Elmira it's best to BYOF because there aren't so many places with tasty healthy foods. Soup's On is pretty much the exception. Tasty eats, healthy foods, great people and a fair price. How can you go wrong?

I've been eating regularly at Barb's since I moved to Elmira in 2005. The food is always superb and the service is great. The only downside is the lack of seating when it gets really busy. Having breakfast available on Sundays is nice, since there are not too many good places to get breakfast around town. Check it out, you won't be disappointed!
